Inspiration

Inspiration: the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions
Someone that has truly been an inspiration to me in many ways, but especially for my blog is one of my former teachers, Mr. Nathan Ogle. I met Mr. Ogle my first day of freshmen year as I stepped foot into his English class and by the time the bell rang and I walked out, I already knew that I was inspired by his class, his love for his job, and his outlook on life. Little did I know that I wouldn't only get to have him for both semesters of English my freshmen year, but also both semesters of English my sophomore year. I knew how lucky I was because he didn't teach many freshmen classes, yet somehow I didn't have to switch teachers at semester and I am forever grateful that I was with him for those two years. However, Mr. Ogle wasn't just my teacher. He was/is one of my biggest role models. While I was in his class, he had two blogs and I read them frequently. He is actually one of the biggest inspirations for this blog. However he didn't just inspire me in the classroom, but inspired me in his service to our country. He inspired me in his love for his job and his students. He inspired me in the role he took on for many students to be a parent like figure. He inspired me in his motivating outlook of life. He inspired me in the way he wanted to be better in all aspects of life. Not only did I get to know Mr. Ogle, but I also got to take on kind of a mentoring role to his daughter through our school's theatre program and I grew to have a sincere love for her sweet soul, too. I remember the day he announced to my sophomore spring semester English class that he would be leaving Paris High School and taking on a different job. Although I was incredibly happy for him and his family, I was so selfishly saddened for myself. I remember thinking "why can't he just stay for two more years?" However, life goes on. Now when I get to see him and visit for a little while, it just makes it even more special and something that I can look forward to. I have yet to find a more motivating teacher and someone who truly believes in each one of their students. I'm so grateful that I was blessed with such an amazing teacher and role model and I truly hope that every student can find that teacher for themselves.
